Police Blotter: Guy Dressed as Banana Tackles Guy Dressed as Gorilla -- Yep, Really
The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department
A giant banana jumped a gorilla on Pearl Road June 29, according to a report.
The manager at Verizon, 14150 Pearl Rd., called police about 3 p.m. to say someone in a banana costume had just tackled his gorilla mascot in front of the store.
The banana, accompanied by four other males, then ran south on Pearl.

Officers checked the area, but "GOA (gone on arrival) on banana," the report said.
The employee in the gorilla suit was not injured -- just a little embarrassed, police said.

Burglary
A Watercress Road resident returned home from vacation to find his back window had been broken and a burglar had been in his house.
An investigation is continuing.
A Peck of Problems
A resident on Saratoga Trail called police after noticing damage to the playground set in her yard June 29.
An officer inspected the set and found the damage had been done by woodpeckers.
Caught in the Act
A Prospect Road man went outside about 6 a.m. June 29 to find a shirtless man breaking into his car.
The would-be thief ran into the nearby woods, but a neighbor recognized him. Police apprehended the man on Albion Road and will charge him with attempted theft.
Theft at the Mall
A laptop computer and GPS were stolen from a car at Westfield SouthPark June 28.
The vehicle was parked near the main entrance.
