Strongsville Police Blotter: If Jamaica Calls, You Didn't Really Win Millions

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A Berkshire Circle woman told police she is tired of getting calls from someone claiming to be bringing her millions of dollars.

The woman said she knows it is a lottery scam, but the caller, who is phoning from Jamaica, knows all her identification information.

Police advised her on how to contact her long-distance provider and have the calls blocked.

Neighbor Leaves Power Tools Running

Police were called to a neighbor dispute on Hidden Meadows Lane June 4 in which a woman said her neighbor leaves lawn equipment leaning against the fence -- running -- and goes into the house.

She said the neighbor does it to annoy her.

A report said a rototiller was running, unattended, the whole time the officer was there. Police advised the woman to report the incidents to police each time. The neighbor, who was advised of the complaint, said he had been using the tiller that day.

Car Litter 

A visitor at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center told police she doesn't appreciate a company putting leaflets about nutrition and weight loss on her car windshield while she's at the rec center. Police called the company and told them to stop.

Garage Sale Shoplifter

A woman running a garage sale on Kylemore Drive June 3 recognized a shoplifter from the year before, a report said.

The resident said the man stole all the video games during her sale last year. This year, when he approached the video games, she got up and he left quickly. Police could not find him or his truck in the neighborhood.

Pool Mischief

Vandals threw a lift gate from a pickup truck into the deep end of the pool at on Gate  Post Road in the  Meadowwood subdivision the night of June 4.
