Middleburg Heights police called Strongsville about 10 p.m. Aug. 25 because a man in their city had been shot -- and he said it was at a gas station near.

Some parents had a few tense moments Aug. 22 when their kids weren't at the house they were supposed to be at.

The boys, 8 and 9, left the Walnut Creek condos about 4:30 p.m. and were supposed to go to Lunn Road. But when a  mom went to pick her son up an hour later, he wasn't there.

They checked playgrounds and parks for nearly an hour before calling police. About 10 minutes later, one of the moms found them at a friend's house on Wildwood Lane.

Unwelcome Visitor

A Fox Grove woman got out of the shower about 11 p.m. Aug. 24 to a scary scene -- the sliding door and screen were standing open.

Nothing appeared to be missing from the house.

Another Unwelcome Visitor

A Royalton Road man returned from vacation Aug. 24 to find someone had been in his apartment.

Nothing was missing, but the man said he had closed the doors to all the rooms and turned off all the lights when he left a week earlier.

When he returned, the doors were open and all the lights were on. It has happened twice in the past, a report said.

Management said there was no reason for a maintenance person to have been in the unit.
