Strongsville Police Blotter: Man Isn't Missing -- He's Just Very Late
The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department
A worried wife called police about 2 a.m. Aug. 13 after her husband failed to come home after meeting his cousin.
The woman told police her husband had left at 10 a.m. to spend the day with his visiting cousin. She missed a call from him at 4:45 p.m., but said she expected him home a long time ago and his cell phone was now turned off.
Police tried to call other relatives and checked several Holiday Inns for the cousin, but couldn't find anyone.

They advised the woman to file a missing person report in the morning, but there was no need. The husband returned home at 4:45 a.m. after a night on the town, a report said.
Fleeing Driver Can't Elude Dog

A man suspected of drunken driving was captured after he hit a pole on Westwood Drive and then fled on foot about 2:20 a.m. Aug. 14.
Police dog Tesco tracked the driver to the back of a garage on Westwood.
The driver, of Brook Park, was charged with drunken driving, hit-skip and other traffic offenses.
Shooting Complaint
Two people reported hearing gunshots about 11:30 p.m. Aug. 14 in the area of Hartford Trail and Boston Road.
Police stayed in the area of Olde Towne Trail for awhile, but found nothing out of the ordinary.
Mailboxes Taken Out
Someone in an SUV hit at least three mailboxes in the early morning hours Aug. 14.
Residents of Overland Park reported their mailbox had been struck and was lying in the street. Police then checked and found another damaged mailbox on Overland Park and one on Winding Trail.
One resident reported hearing what sounded like a car dragging something at 3:30 a.m. and looked outside to see an SUV driving away.
Cracking the Case
An employee at alerted police about 10 p.m. Aug. 12 that two young males had just bought six cartons of eggs -- and probably not for a hearty breakfast.
Police looked around the area, but couldn't find the teens.
Shortly before 11 p.m., a resident on Crystal Creek Drive reported finding his house egged when he arrived home a few minutes earlier.
He drove around the neighborhood and found other houses egged, too.
