Strongsville Police Blotter: Nail Salon Gives Customers More Than Manicures and Pedicures

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Police received a complaint July 15 that a Royalton Road nail salon was giving customers liquor.

Police told the owner that he could not give alcohol to customers without a liquor permit. The owner agreed to stop serving the beverages and get a permit before continuing.

A gas station employee found what he believed to be a spoon with heroin on it in the bathroom the night of July 14.

The employee was instructed to put on gloves and then bag the spoon.

Police examined the spoon, which had burn marks on it, but nothing else. It was then thrown out.

Welfare Check

A woman in her 40’s was seen stumbling down the sidewalk on Pearl Road. The woman, who was wearing a sundress and had red hair, was gone by the time police arrived.

Yard Theft

A man was seen getting out of garbage bins feet-first the morning of July 16. When the man saw someone watching him, he took off running with a couple of bags from the Pearl Road address.

Animal on the Loose

A caller reported a distressed-looking dog walking in the middle of Pearl Road. The dog was gone by the time police arrived.

Intoxicated Driver

A woman driving a white Grand Prix was heading south on Interstate-71 the night of July 16. Witnesses told police she was going about 50 mph and was weaving in and out of lanes and then driving onto the grass.

The woman passed field sobriety tests, but was very fatigued and on prescription medicine. She told police she was not OK to drive and had a ride come to pick her up.

Late-night Mischief

A group of teens were in the road at the intersection of Jonathan Drive and Montclare Boulevard the night of July 17, shouting obscenities. A witness told police they wouldn’t move for traffic to pass.
