Strongsville Police Blotter: Quick-Change Artist Finds a Victim

The following information was supplied by the Strongsville police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A quick cash scheme cost , 17090 Royalton Rd., $78 on May 29.

Police said a man pulled the classic quick-change scam by confusing a cashier.

"He asked them to make change again and again, and by the time they were through, he had the money," Detective Lt. John Janowski said.

The man was described as 23 to 26 years old, of Hispanic descent, with some facial hair and no front top teeth.

Keep the Honking Down

A resident complained about a loud noise coming from the area of on Pearl Road about 7 a.m. May 29. Police were unable to find anyone making noise other than crows and a flock of geese. The geese were loud, a report said.

Condiment Vandalism

A Saratoga Trail family awoke May 28 to find kids had egged their house and poured ketchup and mustard on the home and their vehicles.

Theft from Auto

Someone broke into a car outside and stole a purse belonging to a Berea woman. The purse was later recovered behind the building.

Too Drunk to Walk Home

Police arrested a woman outside a Pearl Road business about 1 a.m. May 29 after she was was unable to walk by herself or remember her address.

A passerby called police after stopping to try to help the woman. The woman gave officers an apartment number, but could not remember the rest of her address. She was also unable to walk.

Police arrested her for disorderly intoxication because she posed a threat to herself.
