Strongsville Police Blotter: Solicitor is a Little Too Friendly -- at First

THe following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A Lincolnshire Boulevard man wasn't happy when a solicitor wanted him to open the door to shake his hand.

He was even less happy when he refused to buy the product and the salesman got mad.

The resident called police about the door-to-door salesman about 1:20 p.m. July 13.

Police were unable to find the moody solicitor, who had a tattoo on his forearm and a spray bottle hanging from his waist.

Safe isn't Safe

A Steven-David Drive man woke up July 12 and found his door unlocked and his safe missing.

There were no signs of forced entry. The man told police the only other person with a key was his wife, who was staying elsewhere, and she denied taking the safe.

Crashing in Comfort

A man checking on a Benbow Road house under construction about 10:30 p.m. July 14 found a man lying on a couch.

The intruder walked away, but when the man asked what he was doing, the guy said he thought he lived there.

Police located the sleepy intruder and took him into custody.

Suspicious Person

A Lenox Drive resident asked police July 11 to check on a woman who was walking in circles around the parking lot, soaking her feet in puddles and talking to herself.

She was gone when officers arrived.

Attempted Burglary

It appears someone tried to get into a Lorraine Drive house July 11. The resident found the gate open, marks around the rear slider door and the screen door removed.

Bike Thefts

Two banana-style bicycles were stolen from a yard on Bowman Drive. The theft was reported July 14.

Wrong Place for a Nap

A passerby called police to Pearl Road about 10:30 p.m. after he found an intoxicated man lying in the curb lane.

The man told police he moved the napping man to the tree lawn.

Police woke the man and took him home.
