Strongsville Police Blotter: Source of Gunshots Still a Mystery

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Several gunshots reported shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday startled a neighborhood and sent police looking for their source.

A Niagara Drive resident called police about 6:50 a.m. saying she heard noises that sounded like gunfire.

Another resident reported three more shots about 15 minutes later, and another shot was fired five minutes after that.

Police said they believed the noises were coming from a back yard on Royalton Road, but could not find the shooter. Officers said they would pay special attention to the area.

Intruder Flees

Police were called to , 17664 Pearl Rd., about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday after someone spotted a man in the store.

Officers found the door open, but on one inside. The owner confirmed nothing was taken and resecured the doors.

Burglary Discovered Late

A Kylemore Drive family realized their house had been burglarized after they started noticing items were missing Wednesday.

The residents called about 9 p.m. to say they had been home for awhile, but had just noticed an iPod, money and other items were missing.

A report said the door from the garage was not locked, and a chair placed under the doorknob was moved when they got home.

Indoor Voice, Please

An anonymous caller told police a Drake Road couple has loud arguments several times a week and was having one about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

When police arrived, they found no argument -- only the woman talking on the phone.

However, they also noted that the windows were open and officers could hear her from the driveway.

Hey, Do Not Call

A Holly Circle man said he has been receiving one or two solicitation calls every day from Card Member Services.

Police called the number and a recording said to press 1 to be placed on a do-not-call list.

The resident said he would dial the number from his home phone and do just that.
