Strongsville Police Blotter: Teen Fishing in Pond Lands a Leg Bone

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A 14-year-old fishing at the lake on Echo Drive June 7 found what appeared to be a leg bone in the water.

A report said the bone washed up on the shore on its own. It was missing cartilage and appeared to have been there quite awhile.

It was possibly a tibia from a deer, the report said. The officer brought the bone to the police station to have someone else look at it.

Purse Stolen from Vehicle

A Woodhurst Drive woman reported June 8 her Coach purse and wallet were taken from her unlocked car during the night.

The purse was found about 10 houses down with everything inside -- including $30 in cash, bank cards and a birth certificate -- except for a car charger. It also contained a DVD player that was not hers.

Man Walking in his Pajamas

A witness asked police to check on an elderly man in pajamas walking in the middle of Howe Road with a walker about 11 a.m. June 8.

Police identified the man, who was walking home from the BP station with his beer in a bag. Officers were also called to check on him a few days earlier.

Burglary Alarm

Police responded to an alarm on Rosalee Lane about 1:20 p.m. June 9 and found no one in the house.

But when the residents got home about 5:30 p.m., they found their video surveillance cameras captured four teenage boys going through the window. They left when the alarm sounded. It was not known at the time of the report if anything was missing from the house.
