Strongsville Police Blotter: Women Use their Kids to Beg for Money

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Employees at the BP station at Royalton and Howe roads told police two women routinely beg for money there, but use their two little girls to do it for them.

A report said two women and two young girls were asking people for money at the station about 1:30 p.m. Sept. 19.

When police arrived, all four were gone. Employees said it's an ongoing problem.

The women and girls left in a Chevy with a 30-day tag.

Police didn't catch him in the act, but a Sandalwood Lane driver who reportedly speeds around the neighborhood was cited nonetheless.

Officers located the car that was the subject of residents' complaints Sept. 21. They issued a citation for not having a front bumper on the car and a warning about a loud exhaust.

Burglary in Apartment

A Whitney Road resident came home Sept. 21 to find his apartment door pried open and items missing.

Needles Found

A White Bark Drive resident found what appeared to be drug paraphernalia outside Sept. 22.

Police said they were actually acupuncture needles and were returned to their owner.

Lawnmower Found

A motorist at Prospect and Royalton roads found a self-propelled lawnmower in the intersection about 10:30 a.m. Sept. 22.

A passerby said had fallen off the back of a landscaping truck.

The motorist took it to police, who are keeping it till the owner is located.
