Suspicious Van; Purse Stolen from Shopping Cart: Police Blotter
The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department
A woman shopping at Marc's about 12:30 Aug. 28 had her purse stolen from her shopping cart, a report said.
The woman who grabbed the purse fled in a blue car.
The purse was recovered, but some contents were missing, the report said.
Odd Moves By Van
A dad on North Red Rock told police that his 8-year-old son was waiting to cross the street about 7 p.m. Aug. 26 when a green van stopped and the four people inside yelled something at the boy.
They had the sliding door open and one of the guys was hanging out the door, a report said.
The van then sped away, running stop signs and driving recklessly.
The dad jumped in his car to try to get their license late, but they were going too fast.
Hawk Down?
A man reported an eagle or hawk sitting on the sidewalk on Royalton Road east of I-71 the afternoon of Aug. 26 and feared it was injured.
Police couldn't find any large birds around.
