Update: Traffic Signals Working Again; Tree Still Down on Drake

Hurricane Sandy makes an impact in Strongsville

 

Traffic signals at the corner of Pearl and Royalton roads were not working this morning, but are cycling properly now.

A couple trees took down power lines during the night due the the high winds caused by Hurricane Sandy.

Sgt. Lee Colegrove said the signals at Routes 42 and 82 were flashing four-way red about 8 a.m. The lights were working again by mid-morning. 

Drake Road remains closed a little east of Prospect Road. A tree fell and is blocking the road. It caught an overhead line on its way down.

Colegrove said CEI has been notified, but is not yet on the scene. He said the power company was working on another tree-power line situation in the area of Fair and Eastland roads.

The rest of Drake Road is open. A reader reported power was out this morning in the Jonathan-Lorraine area.

Valley Parkway is closed west of Pearl Road and east of Handle Road.
