Underage Party Sends One Teen to Hospital, Others to Police Station

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

A party hosted by a 14-year-old girl Saturday night ended with kids running through the neighborhood and a boy in the hospital.

An anonymous caller reported the underage party on Steeplechase Lane about 9 p.m.; another caller said they were playing loud music and disrupting the neighborhood.

Police arrived to find kids running into the a wooded area and told dispatchers to expect calls from residents on Country Way, Westwood and Churchill about kids in their back yards.

Several teens were apprehended on nearby streets, as was the host, a high school freshman. Police said the girl's parents were out of town and believed their daughter was staying at a friend's house.

About 9:45 p.m., police were called to Fairfield Place, where a 14-year-old guest from the party, who said he had drunk 17 beers, was unconscious and vomiting, a report said.

Police contacted the boy's parents and had him taken by ambulance to Southwest General.

The teens at the party all face charges of underage drinking.
