Woman Being Harassed -- By Her Parents: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A woman asked police for an escort to her car at SouthPark Mall Oct. 10 because she was afraid two people were waiting for her outside -- her parents.

The woman said her parents had been waiting by her car and harassing for the last two weeks, ever since she moved out. They also follow her around Strongsville, a report said.

Last week, she waited inside the mall about 9:30 p.m. and asked someone to call her when the officer arrived. She said she was afraid to look out the door.

The woman did not want to press charges.

Man in Black in Back Yard

A Homestead Park resident spotted a man dressed all in black, including a black hood, in his back yard about 3:20 a.m. Oct. 10.

Police took a canine officer through the area, but couldn't find anyone.

Well-Dressed Man in Back Yard

On Fairfax Lane, a man was seen running through yards about 1 p.m. Oct. 9.

He was wearing a green blazer, a report said. He was also wearing glasses and had a beard.

Thefts from Vehicles

A laptop was stolen from an unlocked car on Oakland Park Drive the night of Oct. 9, a report said.

The same night, someone went into an unlocked vehicle on Century Oak Drive and took loose change.

And a King Coe Lane resident reported last week that a purse and a GPS were taken from a vehicle back on Oct. 1.

Car's Cool Trick

Police found a car parked outside a Pearl Road body shop, all locked up but running, about 12:15 a.m. Oct. 10.

Dispatchers called the owner, but explained what happened: He has a remote start that automatically turns the car off after 10 minutes.

His son thinks that's cool, so when he parks it, he has a habit of leaving the car running.

The son was dropping off the vehicle for an appointment the next morning.
