Woman Claims She's Attacked in Her Driveway By Man in Trench Coat

A Fair Road woman reported Thursday she was attacked while unloading her car in her driveway by a man who grabbed her purse and ran.

Police spent a half hour searching for a man wearing a long black trench coat, Carhartt pants and a black scarf over his face before the victim admitted she'd made up the story. 

A report said the woman and her mother had argued over whether the daughter had pawned some jewelry, and it escalated into pushing and shoving.

The younger woman then left and made up the story.

Police gave both advice on how to handle problems like that in the future.
