Woman Reports 'Attack' Because She's Bored: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A Whitney Road woman faces charges for allegedly making up a story about being attacked on an elevator in her apartment building.

The woman called 911 about 12:20 p.m. Feb. 6 and said while she was in the elevator, a man tried to grab her.

She had scratches on her arm, she said, and asked for paramedics to check them.

The man got off on the third floor, she told officers.

But under further questioning, the woman admitted she had made the story up. She told police she was bored and wanted attention.

She was cited for misuse of 911.

How Much Shorter?

A Forestwood Drive resident complained that for two nights in a row, someone had driven through his yard.

Police said it looks like someone is shortcutting the corner and running over the lawn.

Due to the snow and ice, it appears no damage was done. Officers suggested placing landscaping rocks in the yard to deter future incidents.

Oh, It's You

A Pearl Road man reported someone used his credit card to make a purchased.

Police went to McDonald's, where the card had been used, and subsequently spoke wth the man's girlfriend, who admitted to using the card and lying about it.

The man said he'd call the bank to straighten out the situation.

Gunshot?

A Whitney Road man heard a loud bang that sounded like gunfire between his apartment and Cherry Tree Drive about 9:30 p.m. Feb. 4.

The resident, who has a security camera on his balcony, played back the tape and could see a flash.

There were no power outages in the area.

Pull Up to Activate Light

A motorist complained about sitting at the traffic signal at Pearl Road and the Ohio Turnpike for seven minutes around 7 p.m. Feb. 6, but the light never changed to green.

Police checked it out and found it was working fine -- when you pulled up to the proper place to actuate the signal.
