Women's Jeans Found, But No Woman; Back-Stabbing Panhandlers: Police Blotter

A concerned resident reported finding a pair of women's jeans with the belt still attached lying in front of a car at a Whitney Road apartment building Nov. 24.

Police said there were no signs of a struggle, and the jeans were in perfectly good shape.

There were also balled-up socks nearby, indicating someone might have dropped laundry.

The officer folded the clothes and left them in the area where they were found.

Panhandler Turf Wars

An anonymous caller said a man in a black Blazer was doing drugs on Pearl Road Nov. 23.

The caller said he saw a needle and some powder, and even gave police the name of the suspect.

Police checked the vehicle, which belongs to a Ravenna family, and found no drugs.

The mom, who was holding a sign that said "Will work for food," said some other people were in the area with a similar sign and may have been trying to get rid of the competition.

A Blue Sprice Drive resident wasn't happy to receive a poem in the mail Nov. 24.

The poem was not threatening, but the man wanted the incident documented.

It arrived along with his church's newsletter, but he called the church and no one there sent it.

Mischief

Residents on Coller Drive reported a group of teens running around the area about 8:30 p.m. Nov. 24.

One was looking in the window of a house, a report said.

They were gone when police arrived.

Not-So-Serious Mischief

Police found some kids hiding under a car on Woodfield Trail about 11:30 p.m. Nov. 24 with plastic wrap in hand, intending to wrap up a friend's car as a prank.

The friend was part of a get-together at the house and was inside at the time.

Police spoke with her and she said she didn't mind the prank.

Officers nonetheless told the kids to stop, and they did.
