Books By Mail: Library Delivers to Homebound

New Library2You service lets disabled people order their reading material

Residents who are unable to get to the  because of a disability can receive books, DVDs and other material at their homes with Library2You, a new outreach service of Cuyahoga County Public Library.

To be eligible for the free Library2You service, a Cuyahoga County resident must be 60 years or older; physically, visually and/or mentally impaired; or temporarily homebound.

Applications are available by calling the library’s Adult Services Department at 216.749.9307 or by visiting www.cuyahogalibrary.org/library2you.aspx.

Customers may contact their local branch for assistance with reserving materials, or they may use the online catalog

The library will send requested materials to participants in a reusable pouch through the mail. When it’s time to return materials, customers simply reverse the address card in the front envelope so that the return postage is showing, then place the mail pouch in or by their mailbox for pickup by a letter carrier.

Library2You users bear no cost for receiving and returning materials. They may have a maximum of 50 items checked out at one time, and participants are subject to the same loan policies and fine rates as other Cuyahoga County Public Library users.
