Crash Victim Wins $1 Million in Suit Against City

Jury says collision with police cruiser caused brain injury

A Strongsville man has been awarded more than $1 million in damages for a 2006 collision with a Strongsville police cruiser that caused a mild traumatic brain injury.

Henry Jontony suffered injuries when a police officer responding to a non-emergency call made an improper left turn in front of his car on Dec. 21, 2006.

Both cars were totaled. Jontony and his wife, Patricia, filed suit in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court in December 2008, saying injuries from the crash caused personality changes and took away his ability to filter out background noise.
