Don't Forget to Get Fido a License

Dog owners can face late charges if they wait till after Jan. 31 to renew

It's time do get a new dog license for your furry best friend, and the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Officer has set up several ways to buy one.

Costs range from $16-$20 with the majority of the proceeds going to the Cuyahoga County Animal shelter. They can be purchased online at http://fiscalofficer.cuyahogacounty.us.

Or, if Fido needs a little fresh air, the fiscal office has nearly 30 participating walk-in locations around Cuyahoga County, according to the local government web site.

The county encourages the annual renewal of dog licenses to keep the addresses and contact information of dog owners current. That way, if a canine is lost or runs away, it can be quickly located and returned to its owner.
