Hayrides offered at Chalet in Metroparks

Tractor-drawn haywagon rides are Saturdays and Sundays in October

The Cleveland Metroparks will offer fall hayrides on weekends this October at the in Mill Stream Run Reservation in Strongsville.

Join the fall weekend tradition on Saturday nights - Oct. 15, 22, and 29 from 6 to 10 p.m., and Sunday afternoons - Oct. 16, 23, and 30 from noon to 4 p.m.

The tractor-drawn hayrides are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and leave approximately every half-hour.

Cost is $7.50 per adult and $5.50 for kids ages 3 to 11. Kids 2 and under ride free on an adult lap.

In addition to the hayrides, there will be free activities, including square dancing, a hay maze, scavenger hunts and a face-painting and balloon-twisting clown.

On Sundays, free bonus activities include coloring and craft stations, Haystack the Scarecrow and free treat bags to kids 11 and under who are dressed in Halloween costumes (with a paid admission). Andyoung visitors can pick out a pumpkin to paint a cool design and take home (a nominal fee).

Chalet Recreation Area is available for like family get-togethers, business and club outings, and school and church group special events.

Chalet Recreation Area is at 16200 Valley Parkway in Mill Stream Run Reservation, between Routes 42 and 82.
