Homes on 28 Streets to be Inspected This Summer

Annual property maintenance program starting up this month

City building inspectors are starting their annual tour of Strongville's neighborhoods to look for upkeep violations.

Building Commissioner Tony Biondillo said the inspectors will look for "glaring" issues like badly peeling paint, hanging gutters and sidewalk cracks that pose a hazard.

"We've toned it back a little, given economic conditions," Biondillo said. "We've backed off on driveways."

The inspectors look only at the outsides of houses. 

Biondillo said the inspection schedule covers the entire city over seven years. Streets targeted this year are:

Ward 1 -- Falling Leaves, Falling Water, Fernwood, Forest Park, Forest Point, Forestview and Fountain Court.

Ward 2 -- Eagles Nest, East Bend, Essex, Fairfax, Fairwinds, Falmouth and Fawn.

Ward 3 -- Coopers Run, Cook, Country Way, Craig, Deer Run, Dell and Dell Ridge.

Ward 4 -- Elm, Erin, Fetterman, Fetzer, Forestwood, Fullers Lane and Gifford.

Homeowners are notified of maintenance code violations and given time to correct the problems. Inspectors also respond to complaints anywhere in the city about poorly maintained properties.
