Charter Change Will Be on Nov. 6 Ballot

Issue 96 looks to get the city's charter up to date with the state law requiring candidates to file 90 days before an election

Strongsville is one of 15 communities in Cuyahoga County looking to update its charter to reflect the state law requiring candidates to file 90 days before a primary election.

As it stands, Strongsville's charter calls for candidates to file their petitions 75 days before an election.

The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections asked 15 cities — including Lakewood, Solon and Strongsville — to have the same filing deadline as the state.
