Strongsville Comes Through State Audit Squeaky Clean

Ohio officials have nothing bad to say about city's bookkeeping

The city aced its state financial audit with no findings for recovery and overall compliments for the way Finance Director Joe Dubovec keeps the books.

There were no "deficiencies in internal control" and no "instances of noncompliance," Auditor of State Dave Yost wrote in a report to City Council.

"Joe has done a good job of cleaning things up," Mayor Tom Perciak said. "It's amazing what happens when you pay attention to every detail."

He said that in a section for management suggestions, the state came up with only one.

Council President Mike Daymut said Dubovec did "an outstanding job.

"It says an awful lot about our system," he said.
