Strongsville has a new Director of Economic Development.

Brent Painter, the city’s current manager of , was appointed and confirmed to his new post as director at last night’s city council meeting.

Painter said the city is a vibrant, pro-business community-- and that its success has been a team effort between all of the city departments, led by Perciak.

“Our business community in Strongsville is second to none, and their success is what drives Strongsville forward,” Painter added.  “Make no mistake, there is still much work to be done—and as director of economic development, my goal is to continue to assist the business community as they grow and relocate to our community. Strongsville is truly open for business.”

Ward 1 Councilman Mike Daymut, who chairs the city’s economic development and technology committee, called Painter “extremely hardworking.”

“It takes a lot in the economic development department to make sure the city is on the right course and Brent has always been the man to go to and has taken our programs here to another level,” Daymut said, pointing to the city's economic development Web site that Painter developed.
