The remaining School Board members have set a closed-door meeting for Jan. 27 to interview the candidates. A session to name a new member is scheduled for Jan. 31.
The person appointed to the post will serve the last year of Maloney's term and could seek a full four-year term by running for the post this year.

Maloney left the school board to accept the Ward 4 City Council position left vacant when Mike Gallagher was elected to the Cuyahoga County Council.
