Bands, Choirs Will Be Busy this Spring

Bands and orchestras from all Strongsville schools are preparing for concerts and competitions in the coming weeks:

ALL CITY BAND CONCERT -- The All City Band Concert will be Tuesday April 19 and Wednesday April 20 at the Strongsville High School gymnasium at 7 p.m. The SHS Wind Ensemble, Albion Middle School Band, Muraski, Zellers, and Chapman Elementary School Bands will perform April 19.The SHS Symphonic Band, Center Middle School Band, Drake, Kinsner, Surrarrer, and Whitney  Elementary School Bands will perform  April 20.

OMEA MIDDLE SCHOOL LARGE GROUP CONTEST -- The OMEA Middle School Large Group Contest  will be held on Friday May 13 and Saturday May 14 at Strongsville High School gymnasium and auditorium. Choirs, orchestras and bands from around the area will participate in this contest. It begins at 4 p.m. May 13 and resumes May 14 from 8 a.m. to noon.   

SPRING BAND CONCERT AND AWARDS -- The Spring Band Concert will be held at Strongsville High School auditorium on Tuesday May 17. It  will begin at 6 p.m. with the Freshman Band opening the concert and the Concert Band following. The Jazz Band will play during intermission at 7 p.m. and dessert will be available. Following intermission, the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will close the concert. 

SPRING ORCHESTRA CONCERT/AWARDS -- The Strongsville High School Spring Orchestra Concert will be held at Strongsville High School on Thursday May 19 in the auditorium. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. and feature the Freshmen, String, Symphonic and Chamber Strings Orchestras. Awards will be given to outstanding seniors at this event.

ALL CITY ELEMENTARY SPRING ORCHESTRA CONCERT -- The All City Elementary Spring Orchestra Concert will be held at Strongsville High School in the main gym on Tuesday May 24 at 7 p.m, featuring the fifth- and sixth-grade orchestras from Chapman, Drake, Kinsner, Muraski, Surrarrer, Whitney and Zellers. 

SENIOR INSTRUMENTAL ORCHESTRA RECITAL -- The Senior Instrumental Orchestra Recital is set for 7 p.m. May 31 at Strongsville High School.
