Don't Bully, Eat Chili: Photos from SHS Fundraiser

Proceeds benefit Friends of Rachel Club

Teachers at spiced up their lunch hour today with a chili cookoff to benefit Friends of Rachel, an anti-bullying club.

Teacher Ann Walz, club advisor, said faculty and staff at the high school donated 17 kinds of chili, plus breads, salads and desserts.

Teachers paid to sample the chilis for lunch today. Walz said the proceeds will help the club "do a few more positive things for the building."

So far the group, which formed in December after the national Rachel's Challenge initiative visited the district, has made cards for students and staff "who needed a pick-me-up," Walz said, as well as making a donation to families at Chardon High School after the shootings there.

About 30 kids are involved in the FOR Club at SHS.
