'Dreams Can Come True,' New Superintendent Says

John Krupinski remembers visiting Strongsville to watch his son play football years ago, sitting in the stands as the powerhouse Mustangs ran roughshod over the Parma team.

Now, he stands poised to lead the district he admired all those years ago.

"Dreams can come true," Krupinski told school board members last week.

The School Board , who is now the assistant superintendent for human resources, to take over the top spot Aug. 1, when .

Board members voted 5-0 on the measure, to applause from the teachers and residents in the audience.

"The district is in good hands," Lampert said.

Krupinski has worked for Strongsville since 1998, serving as principal of and then elementary schools. In 2007, he became the district's director of human resources, and in 2009 moved into his current position.

He started his career as a teacher and, before coming to Strongsville, served as principal of St. Albert the Great in North Royalton from 1982 to 1998. 

He said he is still delighted to be recognized by former students as "Mr. K."

"That makes my day," he said.

He said the district is lucky to have good teachers and fine parents who have supported schools.

"I look forward to this opportunity," he said.
