Veterans' Event on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

In commemoration of Veterans Day, author and energy coach Betsy Muller will host a film presentation and discussion about an alternative approach for treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Middleburg Heights Recreation Center. The event will include the film, Operation Emotional Freedom and will be followed by a brief introduction to Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), a self-help method that can quickly relieve human suffering.

The workshop is open to all, however the film may not be suitable for children.  Caregivers and family members of veterans are encouraged to attend.

Operation Emotional Freedom is a documentary that takes a hard hitting look at the current state of health care for combat veterans in America diagnosed with PTSD. The film examines the myths and misconceptions surrounding the medical/chemical approach to treating PTSD and why drugs are not the answer that pharmaceuticals promise. Instead, the film follows a group of volunteer veterans and their families on a journey through a newer vision of health and healing for PTSD and trauma. It features touching stories about how returning veterans are benefiting from EFT.

Muller, author of the new book, Energy Makeover, will discuss how EFT can treat the causes of PTSD. EFT is part of a process that addresses unresolved emotional issues that can cause physical disease, psychological dysfunction and limitations on personal performance. Based on the ancient principles of acupuncture, EFT is a technique that realigns the body's energy system, but without the use of needles.

“As Operation Emotional Freedom demonstrates, a veteran suffering from PTSD can be a completely different person after EFT treatment,” said Muller, who has used EFT as an empowerment tool for  coaching business professionals seeking greater productivity, performance, life balance and stress release.
