School Board member said he will not resign his school board seat before his term expires at the end of the year, even though there are rumors circulating that he will leave the board early.
“I am not running for re-election, but contrary to the rumors that are out there, I do intend to serve out the rest of my term until December,” Gusman said at a school board meeting Thursday.
Gusman announced Aug. 10 -- the filing deadline for school board candidates -- that he would not seek a third term.

will vie for three open school board seats. Board members Ruth Brickley and Carl Naso will seek re-election.
Also running are Richard Micko, a local school activist who ran unsuccessfully for the board in 2009; John Pietrasz, who grew up in Strongsville; Greg Scott, a 2011 graduate of Strongsville High School; and Ronald Schroth Jr., a long-time teacher who has worked as a substitute in Strongsville.
