Strongsville Medicine, Pharmacy Students Receive White Coats at Ceremony

Six local students start studies at NEOMED

Northeast Ohio Medical University welcomed its Class of 2017 with White Coat Ceremonies Sept. 10. White coats are symbolic of the professionalism that is expected of medicine and pharmacy students during their professional school years and as physicians and pharmacists.

During the White Coat Ceremonies, students received their white coats and pledged their commitments to their professions and the health of the patients they will serve.

Ceremonies were held for pharmacy students and for medicine students, with more than 1,000 family members, friends, students, faculty and staff attending.

The College of Pharmacy welcomed 76 new students and the College of Medicine welcomed 149 new students.

Brittany Choe of Strongsville, Ohio, entered the College of Medicine at NEOMED. Choe is a graduate of Strongsville Senior High School and Kent State University.

Michael Kaminski of Strongsville, Ohio, entered the College of Medicine at NEOMED. Kaminski is a graduate of Strongsville Senior High School and The University of Akron.

Anupama Sundaram of Strongsville, Ohio, entered the College of Medicine at NEOMED. Sundaram is a graduate of Magnificat High School and The University of Akron.

Radhika Takiar of Strongsville, Ohio, entered the College of Medicine at NEOMED. Takiar is a graduate of Strongsville Senior High School and The University of Akron.

Zachary Yetmar of Strongsville, Ohio, entered the College of Medicine at NEOMED. Yetmar is a graduate of Strongsville Senior High School and Youngstown State University.

Valerie Stuhm of Strongsville, Ohio, entered the College of Pharmacy at NEOMED. Stuhm is a graduate of James Ford Rhodes High School and Cleveland State University.
