What Do You Think of the Idea to Build a New Middle School?

Councilmen Jim Carbone and Matt Schonhut and School Board member Carl Naso last week unveiled  to replace the existing two buildings.

A bond issue of about $72 million would pay to build the school and make improvements to the high school and elementary buildings, including better technology.

The three say it would save money for the district and could avert -- or at least postpone -- the need for another operating levy, as well as improve home values and make the city more attractive to new businesses.

Homeowners would only see their taxes rise $8.42 a year per $100,000 of valuation because other bonds will be paid off over the next couple years.
