Camp Cheerful to Start Adapted Football League

Program offers sports to kids, young adults with disabilities

The Achievement Centers for Children is launching an adapted football league for children with disabilities through Camp Cheerful in Strongsville.

The league, which will operate in partnership with the Cleveland Browns and the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities, will start in May. Registration is now under way.

The league offers football to children and young adults with a broad range of disabilities. It is open to everyone 8 years and older with physical limitations or cognitive/developmental delays.

Practices and games will be played Saturday mornings in Strongsville and Westlake, with plans to expand to different areas in the future.

Registration runs through the end of April. Register online at the Achievement Centers for Children website. If you have questions, call Mike Urban, manager of sports services, at 440-238-6200, ext 245.
