Kris Hall, a 2009 graduate who is now a junior at Lee University in Tennessee, was named the NAIA Pitcher of the Week March 13.
Hall was selected based on his performance from March 4–11 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.
He had already earned the distinction of SSAC Pitcher of the Week the previous day.
Hall threw eight innings and allowed only two hits in the Lee Flames’ 9-0 win over Loyola University. He struck out 15 and walked two.
"This is a big honor and great recognition for the performance Kris had last week,” head coach Mark Brew said on the Lee University website. “He has been dominant thus far this season and is having a big year for us throwing in the No. 1 spot."
In December, in the nation who are eligible for next year’s MLB draft.
Hall improved to 6-0 on the season, which ranks second in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. He is second nationally in strikeouts (63), third in strikeouts per nine innings (14.2) and 11th in earned run average (0.68).
In 40 innings, he has walked only 14 and opponents are batting just .151 against him.
