This year, a newly installed lift takes toboggans to the top of the hill so riders no longer have to carry them up.

The twin refrigerated ice chutes start with an initial drop of 70 feet, traveling over 700 feet of ice at more than 45 mph.

All riders must wear gloves or mittens. Children must be at least 42 inches tall to ride and be accompanied by an adult.

The Chalet also has a heated building with indoor/outdoor fireplaces, a main gathering area with a large-screen television, a concession stand, a loft area with video games and indoor restrooms.

The Chalet Recreation Area is at 16200 Valley Parkway, between Routes 42 and 82.
