Five times a year, Patch employees spend a day volunteering in the community.
On April 14, the latest Give 5 Day, Strongsville Patch Editor Debbie Palmer went to to help volunteers from Berea Animal Rescue clean cages and exercise cats the store allows the shelter to display.
She also spent time at the shelter itself and came away with a huge appreciation for the volunteers who offer their time every week to make sure the stray dogs and cats are comfortable and healthy and find new homes.
