Girl Scout Troop 1015 has collected 1,000 pairs of shoes for Soles4Souls, an organization that helps victims of suffering and poverty around the world.
The results shattered the girls' original goal of 300 pairs, according to troop leader Theresa Wise.
Wise thanked Payless District Manager Mike Berry and the employees at the in and at , who allowed the girls to put shoe collection boxes in their locations.
"I know that many of the Payless employees bought new shoes to put into our collection boxes," Wise said. "We also want to thank Sensi Joe Bove who collected shoes at his karate classes, and St. Joseph Church and its parishioners who contributed shoes after Masses. All of this wonderful support is what Strongsville is all about!"
