According to Strongsville Women's League, one in every four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime; one in four  teens reports verbal, physical, emotional, or sexual abuse each year, and about one in five high school girls has been physically or sexually abused by a dating partner.  One in nine people over the age of 60 has experienced some form of elder abuse.

The purpose of the displays is to offer awareness to victims that help and hope is available for them through the Cleveland Domestic Violence Center and also to create an awareness in the aggressors of the sorrow and suffering they inflict on their victims.
