Health & Fitness

I bet you know or love someone with Alzheimer's...if not now, you will. WALK with US to End Alzheimer's!!

Alzheimer's is epidemic & growing faster than our population is aging.  It's the only one of the top 10 killer diseases in America with no cure or treatment.

If you would like to be part of a future without Alzheimer's, then join us at the West Side Walk to End Alzheimer's & raise money for the cause.

The West Side Walk is SEPTEMBER 21st at ALL PRO FREIGHT STADIUM in AVON (home to the Lake Erie Crushers) on Routes I-90 and 611.  The activity begins at 8:30am, the interactive Opening Ceremony at 9:30am, and the 3 mile walk (or 1 mile option) at approximately 9:45am. Those who want to show support but cannot walk can watch from the stands!  You'll be home for lunch after a beautiful morning walk in the ballpark (or have Yala's Pizza there for lunch)!

The festivities include a Kid Zone with special take-home projects thanks to Home Depot, a balloon clown, jugglers from Saint Ignatius Circus Company & more.  Leading the walkers will be the Amherst HS Drumline, with local cheerleaders & a samba/latin percussion group & more along the walk routes.  Coffee, donuts, & Yala's pizza will be available for walkers to purchase before and after the event.

With more than 800 walkers last year, the Walk is growing into a great community event for Lorain County & the west side of Cleveland.  All proceeds go to the Alzheimer's Association...won't you join us this year??

Plan on a great Saturday morning walk, and help us fight this disease.  Go to http://www.alz.org/cleveland and click on the Walk to End Alzheimer's tab to register for the AVON Walk, or call 216.346.1761 to get more information on walking individually or forming a walk team with friends, family, fellow workers.  If you cannot make the Walk, you can donate to the Walk on-line.

WE NEED YOU.  Hope to see you there!
