Can you provide more details on what you were so disappointed?

Have known more than a few families over the past 10 years who held funerals here w/ disappointingRead More experiences ranging from extreme overcharges, disrespect of family wishes, lack of services paid for, rude & arrogant behavior from owner's son, mistakes on death certificate(which resulted in problems for widow filing for death benefits),inappropriate dress of funeral home worker( female w/nose piercing, low cut & inappropriate clothing). In general, there seemed to be a lack of compassion and greater concern w/taking advantage of those in a terrible time of need by pushing high end services&not informing customers of more economical options,as required by law(deceptive business practice)&trying to guilt loved ones, implying they weren't doing enough for the deceased if they didn't buy into all the "extras". Generally shameful behavior. Millar & George, who founded the business many years ago,did not operate like this. It appears that since George's son became involved w/the business there has been a downturn.Nepotism is not necessarily a good thing& certainly not in this case. Loved ones should not have their grief exacerbated by those in a position of trust.I understand funeral homes are a business& they too must make money, but there is an expectation of professionalism, fairness & compassion for the industry that does not exist here.
