The station, which opened Feb. 11, 2008, has five and one-half bays, classrooms, a training tower and the department's air cascade system. Situated on Prospect Road just north of Drake Road, the station serves as the police mini-station for Ward 4. It is staffed by a minimum of four fire medics including three fire medics, a lieutenant and a captain who acts a shift commander. The station houses a ladder truck, a reserve pumper, two rescue squads, a command vehicle and several staff cars. It is also equipped with hazardous materials vehicles and equipment.
