Rob Chudzinski Winning This Browns Fan Over From Day 1

While he wasn't even on most people's radar, Chud is starting off strong as the new Cleveland Browns head coach

As I was reclining in my La-Z-Boy late Thursday night, my phone went off with an alert from ESPN. "Browns hire Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski as head coach." Wait, what? Shocked. Flabbergasted. Disappointed. Those were the words to describe my feelings about this news. I didn't understand where this even came from and why they would bring a fired Browns offensive coordinator back as the head coach four years later. I was prepared for another few years of losing football and yet another coaching search. Now, less than 24 hours later, I'm singing a different tune. After Friday's press conference in Cleveland, I'm much more optimistic that Chudzinski (more affectionately known as "Chud") might be a good man to lead this team…

Do You Agree With Baseball Hall of Fame Voters? (POLL)

For the first time since 1996 no players will be inducted to the Hall of Fame.

Major League Baseball will have no players making their way into the Hall of Fame this year. Baseball writers across the country elected to shut out Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens from Cooperstown on Wednesday. According to the New York Times, it was the "most resounding referendum on the legacy of steroids in baseball," and only the eighth time ever no players got the required 75 percent of votes from baseball writers. Former Houston Astro Craig Biggio came the closest, getting 68 percent of the votes.  Sammy Sosa, another name involved in steroids, was also rejected by voters, along with former Mets catcher Mike Piazza and another former Astro Jeff Bagwell. Bonds and Clemens were the two biggest names involved with steroid scandals that…

Is Rob Chudzinski The Right Hire for the Cleveland Browns?

The Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator is the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns

Many Cleveland Browns fans were left scratching their heads Thursday night as the team announced the hiring of Rob Chudzinski as head coach. Chudzinksi was the offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers for the past two years and was an assistant coach with the Browns twice with stints in 2004 and 2007, according to ESPN.com. With Chudzinkski as the new head coach, sources say he will bring former San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner with him as the offensive coordinator, The Plain Dealer reports. Turner was fired by the Chargers after the season ended. This is a dream job for the new coach, who grew up a diehard Browns fan in Toledo and followed the team as a kid. Many fans are wondering what happened to the big names owner …

Who Should Replace Pat Shurmur and Tom Heckert?

It's been reported today that the Cleveland Browns' head coach and General Manager Tom Heckert have been fired

Everyone saw it coming after the Cleveland Browns' 24-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday, but it was confirmed on Monday: Head Coach Pat Shurmer and General Manager Tom Heckert are gone. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported through Twitter Monday morning that both had been fired after a less-than-stellar 5-11 season. Shurmer had a dismal 9-23 record over his first two seasons as the head coach. He took the position in 2011. Heckert was hired in 2010. With Shurmur out the door, the Browns will begin their search for a new head coach immediately. The Plain Dealer reports some names in the running are University of Oregon coach Chip Kelly, Penn State's Bill O'Brien, Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator and interim head coach Bruce …

Jon Gruden is the right man for this Job. He led a Tampa Bay team that was eerily similiar to the Cleveland Browns new franchise. He came up with the current system but would bring a stronger personality and more discipline that was sorely lacking in the former regime.I think most Cleveland fans want some continuity because we realize that change every few years is part of the problem.   more ›
