AT&T Adds Broadband Cell Site Here

Mobile coverage to be enhanced near high school

AT&T has activated a new mobile broadband cell site that will enhance coverage for residents and businesses near Strongsville High School. AT&T invested more than $200 million in its Ohio wireless and wireline networks in the first half of 2011, according to a news release. To-date in 2011 in Ohio, AT&T has added more than 50 new cell sites to improve network coverage, upgraded more than 130 existing cell sites to provide faster mobile broadband speeds, and added capacity or an extra layer of frequency --which is like adding lanes to a highway -- to more than 360 cell sites. Strongsville Police Blotter: Alleged Burglar Nabbed as He Carries Loot From Scene

Police discovered -- and apparently solved -- a burglary Feb. 8 after a woman flagged down an officer on Howe Road to say she had seen a young man carrying what appeared to be a gun case. Police located the teen, who was, in fact, carrying a case containing a gun. A registration check on the gun showed it belonged to a Cotttonwood Trail resident. Officers went to the house to make sure it was OK, but instead found a kitchen window broken and footprints in the snow. They were able to contact the owner, who was vacationing in Florida. The owner said he would have someone fix the damage to his house as soon as possible. The suspect, 17, was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center in Cleveland.
