Obama Touts Unemployment Rate at CSU Speech

Big Bird gets a mention at Oct. 5 speech.

President Barack Obama made his most recent campaign stop in Cleveland this afternoon, greeting a crowd at Cleveland State University. The Plain Dealer reported following Obama’s 2 p.m. speech on No. 5. Obama incorporated this morning’s job report citing a 7.8 percent unemployemnt rate, into his speech. Strongsville students find close-to-home location is convenient

The Brunswick University Center held its official grand opening celebration this weekend.  Cleveland State University president Ronald Berkman announced at a celebration March 24 that CSU will begin offering two master’s degrees in education -- one in school administration and one in counseling -- at the new Brunswick University Center. Strongsville's Michael Meldon Shines at Meet

Mustang swimmer takes two individual events in 36th annual Viking Invitational at Cleveland State.

Michael Meldon led the Strongsville swim team to a successful day at the 36th annual Viking Invitational at Cleveland State University's Busbey Natatorium with a pair of individual wins in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard fly. "The difference is we have 38 boys on the team compared to just 11 when I took the job four years ago," said Mustangs coach Tom Stacy during a break in the day-long event that featured 69 schools including Canisius from near Buffalo, N.Y. on Dec. 18. "And there is competition. They push each other so we are deep at all events. This is my fourth year, so the kids on this team know me and I know them. …
