Chamber Scholarship Dance Set to Raise Thousands for Higher Education

The annual kickoff to the holiday season in Strongsville is Friday, Dec. 2

Ready to shake, rattle and roll at this year’s Chamber of Commerce Holiday Scholarship Dance? The annual fundraising event will be held at Michaud’s Towne 'n Country, and as always, all proceeds will go to fund scholarships for a select group of Strongsville High School seniors. Last year, the event raised more than $30,000 for higher education. Food providers include B-Spot, Don’s Pomeroy House, Michaud’s and Shinto. The gala will run from 7 p.m. to midnight on Friday, Dec. 2. To reserve a table, call the Chamber of Commerce at 440-238-3366. Class is the word that best describes Don’s Pomeroy House. The moment you walk into the renovated historic building you know you’re somewhere special. There are three levels to dine on, from the top two fancy floors, to the friendly, warm Pub found at the bottom. Don's Pomeroy House takes top honors in Patch contest

The people have spoken -- possibly with their mouths full of Fishmarket Salad and lobster tail -- and named Don's Pomeroy House their favorite restaurant in Strongsville. "Hands down my favorite place to eat," said Tina in her nomination. "You can count on two things -- the food will be great and so will the service." Other voters said Don's, located in a renovated historic house at 13664 Pearl Road, has a "terrific patio" and "excellent food." "(General Manager) Dan Stroemple and his staff go out of their way to make your meal enjoyable and relaxing," Ruth Brickley commented. Arts in Strongsville Hosts Wine, Music & Cabaret Event

Arts in Strongsville will host its second Wine, Music & Cabaret from 7:30 p.m. to midnight Jan. 29 at the Event Center in the Walter F. Ehrnfelt Recreation and Senior Center, 18100 Royalton Road.
