Eating Champ Takes on Wings at Cleats
'Beefcakes' Bickel fell short of breaking a world record
He made a valiant effort, but in the end, Scott "Beefcakes" Bickel was dinged by a wing. The competitive eater fell short of setting a new world record of 242 chicken wings, but did manage to down 175 in two hours Dec. 9 at Cleats Club Seat Grille, 15147 Pearl Road in Strongsville. "It's all that sodium," Bickel said after the competition. "I still have room. I could probably knock out another 75, but the taste just overwhelmed me." The burly 20-year-old from North Royalton has put on some impressive shows since launching his competitive eating career in July.
