Crown Point Parkway Lights the Night
Street is, again, decked out in its twinkling holiday finery
A Strongsville Christmas tradition is blazing on Crown Point Parkway with more than 80,000 lights twinkling on the cul de sac. It's a sight that draws thousands to the Chandler Commons subdivision during the holidays. "We come every year," said Michelle Norton, who admired the display recently with her son Gary. "It really puts you in the Christmas spirit." Dan Hoag, who lives at the end of the cul de sac, started the trend in the 1980s by decking out his house in vintage Christmas bulbs and his yard with handmade mechanical decorations. Today, his home glows with 30,000 lights. In 1990, new neighbor Dan Paliwoda suggested they join forces.
