Kilo Leaving Rec Center for New City Post

Recreation director leaving post to head human resources department.

Recreation Director Steve Kilo will leave his office at the Walter F. Ehrnfelt Recreation and Senior Center for a new one at City Hall. Mayor Tom Perciak on Monday appointed Kilo to serve as the new director of human resources, replacing Tony Urankar, who is leaving to pursue other options. He will take over the department Jan. 8. Perciak said that while Kilo is needed at the rec center, the other opening is more pressing. "It was important we fill the vacancy of human resources director as soon as we can," he said. The mayor said Kilo, who is a practicing attorney, is a good choice for the new role. Kilo will continue to help out at the rec center until a replacement is found and, in fact, will help search for a new recreation director. …
