Bakery, Market to Open at Taste of Excellence

The well-known catering company, now headquartered in Strongsville, is set to launch an upscale store, bakery and coffee shop

A Taste of Excellence Catering will soon complete the next phase of its relocation to Strongsville with an expansion of its business that includes retail spaces. The 19-year-old company moved its headquarters from Parma to Strongsville four months ago after purchasing and remodeling the former Zig’s Bowling Alley property at 16888 Pearl Rd. With 20,000 square feet of kitchen, warehouse, showroom and office space, the new facility is five times larger than its previous location.   Now, owners Bill and Dawn Rini are preparing to open a retail gourmet and farmer’s market, as well as a bakery adjacent to the catering offices. A Taste of Excellence to Add Patio

Catering company will feature bakery in its Pearl Road headquarters

A Taste of Excellence, which is moving its headquarters from Parma to Strongsville, is seeking permission to add a 1,944-square-foot patio to its site at 16888 Pearl Rd. The request will be heard Thursday by the Strongsville Planning Commission. Economic Development Manager Brent Painter said the well-known catering company is putting a bakery, to be called Patisserie 42, in the business. The patio would serve bakery customers who want to enjoy their treats onsite. A Taste of Excellence purchased and renovated the former Zig's bowling alley. "It's a wonderful thing they've done," Painter said. "They took a blighted building and turned it into a wonderful project."
